From the terminal parking of Devero climb to the church, continue straight on and half way up the plain take the unpaved road that climbs to Crampiolo. The tractor track starts behind the church and it climbs very steeply to the small dyke of Lake Devero (a section not highly suited to cycling) and then continues along the hillside going along the lake. It passes Rio della Valle first, then Rio della Satta and you reach a short but very steep paved section that climbs to the Spygher hut. From here, the track continues steep and rather unpaved, but Alp Canaleccio is reached quickly where the track continues with a moderate gradient and level sections in the so-called Marmot Valley. Having reached the bottom of the valley you can catch a glimpse of the Lake of Pianboglio. Here the track starts to climb again steeply and with several tight hairpin bends. With a last hillside section, you finally reach Alp Forno in a breathtaking scenario for the size of its pastures.
