Departing from Piazza Duomo, continue on Via Vittorio Emanuele passing to the right, under the arch to San Filippo to reach the Church of San Domenico. Go up Via delle Rosine, turn left into Via Avezzana, then immediately right into Via Albussano, cross Corso Matteotti and go straight on in Via Buttigliera. After about 1 km, continue on the left side of the cemetery perimeter along via Pirandello until you reach a large car park. Turn left towards Strada Vecchia di Buttigliera as far as the cycle path. Continue on the paved road on the left of Cascina Robbio, passing the Rio di Cesole and the Rio Moano. After about 400 m, cross the SP121 Riva near Chieri-Arignano in the hamlet of San Giovanni, 4.2 km from Cascina Robbio. Cross the provincial road and walk for almost 1 km to the house where San Domenico Savio was born. At the intersection with the SP32 Riva near Chieri-Buttigliera d'Asti, cross the road and go alongside Cascina Martina. Turn right, leaving Cascine Corna and Serramena. Continue as far as the locality of Croce Grande where you cross the SP16. Ignore the turns until you reach a crossroads near a bridge. Here the route rejoins Stage 3 allowing you to climb quickly up to Colle Don Bosco.
