The entire stage develops along trail 415 with departure from Molè, a hamlet of Forno di Coazze (1087 m).

Climb up the moraine ridge and a long gentle slope to an altitude of 1450 m where there are noticeboards that mark the edge of the Orsiera Rocciavré Nature Park and the wood gives way to open spaces.

The trail runs alongside the Balma Stream for a short time, as far as a large fountain, from where you climb northwards on hairpin bends and the view opens out onto a landscape dominated by rocky walls: to the right (left bank) Rocca di Bauti (1724 m), to the left (right bank) Rocca Tana dell'Orso (1708 m). The trail continues halfway up the mountain, high above the stream, and turns left, to pass the frontal rocky spurs (Cara d'Uslur).

Climbing an uphill section with several hairpin bends, after 20 minutes you reach the Balma Refuge.

The village of Molè can be reached by paved road from the Sanctuary of the hamlet of Forno di Coazze (at 0.8 km) and you can park the car near the cluster of buildings. Another place to park is the forecourt of the Sanctuary of Forno.
