From the Refuge, descend to Lake Losere following the old mule track interrupted by the hairpin bends of the road that climbs to Colle del Nivolet. After passing alongside the gracious Lake Losere, the mule track continues slightly downhill along the valley, with a breathtaking view of Levanne and Lake Serru. The route continues on flat ground, crossing several small streams and the Videsott trail that climbs from Chiapili di Sopra. In this area, it is possible to admire the valley from some hunting posts, still perfectly preserved. After this point, the mule track starts to climb more markedly, but with a regular gradient to Colle della Terra, from where, in two minutes you reach Punta Rocchetta, with a magnificent view of Lake Ceresole and the valley below. From the Colle in ten minutes you descend to the beautiful Lake Lillet, nestled under a rock wall. From the lake, resume the track that climbs on stony ground meeting route 540 shortly after that climbs from Mua-Ceresole. Keeping to the left, the trail shortly after reaches Colle della Porta at 3002 m. From the Colle, the ancient royal road lowers with several bends on the opposite slope, between snowfields and debris, towards the Giraudo Bivouac. At an altitude of approximately 2700 m, when the mule track turns right, abandon it and continue left on tracks that are lost among the large blocks of stony ground to Lake della Piatta and to the nearby Giraudo Bivouac 2630 m (sleeps 6, always open, water nearby).
