You depart from the Pontebernardo car park and initially follow the route of stage 11, surrounded by mixed deciduous and coniferous woods. After about 700 metres you will reach the entrance of the ancient baryte mines. The next descent takes place in a mixed wood and is characterised by the presence of stones along the path. Towards the end of the descent, you cross a fallow meadow and finally reach Pietraporzio (1280 m).
