At the hairpin bend where the Pilone della Fornace (shrine at approx. 955m) is located, an easy dirt road with even terrain goes northwards through a fairly open area, flanking some huts and reaching after a group of meire in the locality of i Vardin shortly after. The beautiful mule track enters the wood remaining almost on flat ground, passes a couple of small basins and reaches an open field where there are the first houses of the village Pian Lavarino (approx. 955m). From here, you pass in front of the shrine, firstly ignoring the flat track that descends between the houses and then goes down to Ghisola (hamlet of Paesana) and then the front track that goes among the houses just beyond. Follow the left fork that goes slightly uphill through the houses, continues on a flat track back into the beech wood – picturesque at times -, passes downstream of a rocky prominence, then with a short ramp it reaches and crosses the Rio Balangero (aprox. 1000 m). The route, now rather uneven, progressively narrows into a path and crosses an area characterised by the presence of dense vegetation; it passes just under a couple of ruined huts, then descends immediately to the right, passing a short distance from the brook, and then climbs up steeply along the axis of the basin until crossing it just beyond the confluence of two minor branches (Rio Comba Agliasco – approx. 1070 m). The path from the bottom, at times uneven, progressively leaves this narrow area with some steep ramps along the hillside, beyond which the track gradually widens and the slope decreases. Continue along a stretch of path flanked upstream and downstream by dry-stone retaining walls, until you reach the ruined huts in Poitetta (about 1095 m). You carry on along a slight slope for a short stretch along the wide and comfortable mule track, then slightly downhill to reach and cross a stream, then a little further ahead you come to and follow the dirt road that comes from the hamlet of Agliasco (approx. 1080 m). The path of Orizzonte Monviso now continues downhill along the dirt road that runs alongside Meire Ciolera, passes the Rio Rivoira and goes down to a new fork (approx. 1020 m) where on the right with a sharp turn a new path called "Ricordo Sentiero Rosetta" begins that descends to the huts of Pian Lavarino. Leaving this fork, you continue to descend along the dirt road that reaches the large widening 250 m further on, where there is a fountain on the right at the junction that goes up towards the locality of Pian del Lupo on the left of the grassy ridge. The road downhill now becomes asphalt and touches respectively the villages of Bossa and Raina further on, of the hamlet of Agliasco up to a visible crossroads (approx. 990 m): the right fork leads downhill towards Paesana, the left one, along which you continue, goes up with a hairpin bend passing upstream of the houses, bends right and goes along a flat dirt road with a grassy terrain that initially enters the wood. You continue along the wide mule track, passing a rather large wash house, then always keeping to the main axis of the track (ignore the deviations) you cross a small basin, beyond which and going slightly downhill, you reach a junction near a ruined hut located just upstream (approx. 985 m). Leave the track uphill that flanks the ruins and descend to the right between beech and birch trees for a short stretch on the ridge, then turn left again and continue on a slight slope with a long crossing in the chestnut forest. You pass near a ruined hut that is a couple of dozen metres before a crossroads (approx. 960 m): leave the two uphill forks on the left (short trails for forestry use) to go down to the right on the dirt road that leads to an open clearing (already visible from the crossroads) where there is the Chapel of S. Grato d'Agliasco (approx. 940 m) with adjoining equipped area. The O.M. route remains on the dirt road with a first hairpin bend to the right (leave the fork to the left), then stretches out keeping mostly on the ridge going in and out of the forest, coming across several forks that are not to be considered (the first to the right with a dirt road that leads to the village of Battagli, the second to the left where the main road goes down for a short stretch then bends right on slightly sloping ground until it joins later). Continue by keeping to the ridge on a steep stretch and then reach the dirt road once again a few hundred metres downstream, at a new crossroads (approx. 795 m). Leave the left and right forks that turn towards the rural villages of Barge and Paesana, and follow the path that continues straight along the ridge and descends rapidly to reach the more open fields of Brich del Serre, where there are some huts, externally delimited by the dirt road (approx. 730 m). A few dozen metres further on you leave the main dirt road that leads to the village of Croce (stage 6 variant, the original route descended here to the village of Croce, passed the carriage road and led on an asphalt road through the meadows, into the centre of Paesana) to take a forest track that bends immediately to the left and descends with a fairly direct path in the forest, ignore the track to the left at a junction that goes slightly uphill and continue directly to a subsequent crossroads (approx. 660 m). Keep to the main track to the left (the right track leads to the houses upstream of Saretto) which now has a stretch along sloping ground in an open field, until you reach a basin where there is a crossroads at a ruined shrine from which another forest track arrives. Take a right and go down directly until you reach a shrine located at the crossroads with the asphalt road (approx. 625 m); ignoring the forks on the left (towards the village of Montescotto) and in front (private), continue to the right following the asphalt road that shortly reaches the junction with the Paesana-Barge road in Colletta (approx. 610 m).

Motorway A6 Torino-Savona, exit at Marene tollbooth; turn left and take the S.S. 662 towards Savigliano, continue until Saluzzo, then follow the signs from Saluzzo to the Po valley along the SP 26; after the village of Paesana continue in the direction of Crissolo; enter the centre of the hamlet of Calcinere and take the junction on the right for the hamlet of Ferrere. From Torino, take the Tangenziale, exit at Pinerolo, continue along the SP 161 towards Bibiana then SP 27 towards Barge - Paesana through the section called "Colletta"; after the village of Paesana continue in the direction of Crissolo; enter the centre of the hamlet of Calcinere and take the junction on the right for the hamlet of Ferrere
