Highlights and tour details

From the locality of Bacini Jafferau take the flat Decauville dirt road (used in the nineteenth and twentieth century for the construction and maintenance of the Rochemolles dam) to reach Mouchequite. The route descends to Rochemolles and then starts to climb up to the 2852 m of Passo di Rocce Verdi. From here, descend through the alpine pasture of Pian delle Stelle (designated as a stop-off place), to Chaffaux (site of the chapel of Santa Caterina and Santa Maria Maddalena with 16th-century frescoes both inside and out), to finally reach Bardonecchia.
