Highlights and tour details
From the square of the chairlift in Malzat, climb to the right of the system, reaching in a few minutes behind the building where the ski slope track arrives. Take the trail (204). Climb for a good distance, continuing on a wide mule track that touches Miandette (1699 m). A little further on, after two buildings, you meet a cart track which you follow until the end close to the Miande Lausarot (1972 m). From here, resume trail 204 that continues eastwards, on the right hydrographic side of the valley crossed by the Rio dei 13 Laghi, alternating long ramps with short sections with a lower gradient. The trail transits below a rocky bastion (on a rock you can read “3” Regg. Alpini-Battaglione Pinerolo–per I 13 Laghi”) and takes to more open slopes heading towards grassy bumps (on one of which a military building can already be seen from far below), which form the western bank of the basin, home to the Lakes of Drajo and dell’Uomo as well as the Bivouac dei 13 Laghi. A few dozen metres before touching the peak of the bumps, the mule track branches off to the right towards Colle Giulian and to the Refuge Del Lago Verde.
Attractions
Numerous alpine lakes and military facilities. The buildings are the Recoveri Perrucchetti, built between 1888 and the early 20th century in the wide plateau around Lake della Draja and dedicated to Giuseppe Domenico Perrucchetti, one of the founders of the Alpine corps.
