From Staffa you continue in the direction of Pecetto but shortly after the Chiesa Vecchia (old church) you turn right and start climbing on a beautiful mule track to Alpe Bill. From here you continue with a long ascent until you reach Rifugio Gaspare Oberto-Paolo Maroli, located just before the Passo del Moro.

The Oberto Maroli Refuge is located close to the arrival station of the cable car that climbs from the hamlet of Staffa, Macugnaga: using the cable car shortens the itinerary by one day. For times, check out www.macugnaga-monterosa.it.
