The route starts from the Church of Crevoladossola where you can admire beautiful polychrome stained-glass windows made by a Bernese craftsman's workshop, which travelled by mule along the Via del Gries. We descend along secondary roads to the Enel power station built by the Milanese architect Portaluppi and then continue to Solaro where the beautiful, paved mule track begins, which runs along the River Toce and reaches Canova and Oira. From the central square, go up to the upper part of the village of La Villa di Oira, and then take a beautiful mule track that descends until it crosses the road to Val Formazza in Arzaloo. You cross the road and skirting two buildings you descend to the Toce River and, skirting it, you will soon reach the beautiful arched stone bridge that allows you to cross the Toce River and reach Pontemaglio. From the oratory turn left and continue in the direction of Crodo along a track that becomes a wide path along the Toce River. After a short stretch with protective barriers in the valley, you reach the locality of Gianzana and then on an asphalt road you go up to Alpiano Viceno. From here a path crosses the hamlet and descends to a metal bridge that allows you to cross the Toce River again. At the end of the bridge you skirt the embankment along a grassy track that continues alongside the Gardens of the Thermal Baths of Crodo. Here is the visitor centre of the Veglia Devero Park with an information office. At the end of the gardens you turn left and arrive on the state road that you cross (pedestrian crossings). Go along the pavement up to the centre of the village of Crodo (we recommend a visit to the Latteria Antigoriana and the Forno Ossolano to buy typical local products), continue along the asphalt road until the deviation for Braccio Fuori and continuing along small internal roads you reach Braccio Dentro. From here take the old mule track that runs along the foot of the steep rock face until you reach the football pitch of Verampio. Skirt the Enel power station and follow the paved road to reach the Trattoria della Campagna and then a car park just before the Devero stream. Turn left crossing through a cluster of houses and you will reach a beautiful arched stone bridge over the Devero stream. At this point, the mule track becomes very beautiful and starts to climb with some hairpin bends. At the end of the climb you cross the junction for Orridi di Uriezzo gorges and immediately after that for Premia. Here the mule track becomes flat and with some beautiful stretches, sometimes dug into the rock, you reach the monumental church of Baceno and the centre of the village.

Follow the A26 motorway to Gravellona Toce and then continue along SS33 del Sempione. Exit at Crevoladossola-Montecrestese. Baceno can be reached by going along SS 659 of Valle Antigorio Formazza
