From Passo della Tesina (2400 m) you must take the spectacular mule track on the right that leads firstly to the Saboulè barracks and then to Colle Saboulè above (2460 m), on the Stura - Tinée watershed. Crossing over into French territory, a short traverse leads slightly downhill to the Lausfer soprano lake, and then to admire the Lausfer inferiori lakes (or lacs Varicles). After a short climb you return into Italian territory through Colle del Lausfer pass, (2378 m). First a mule track and then a cart track lead to Colle di Sant'Anna (2308 m). From here, you descend along the former military road towards the lake of Colle di Sant'Anna and then you shortly reach the Sanctuary.
