From the centre of Demonte continue towards Madonna del Pino where there is the intersection of the main itinerary; continue uphill on a mule track and forest track through the Bosco di Cant to reach the village Poracchia in the valley floor. After a stretch on asphalt for about 3 km, you reach the hamlet of San Giacomo and go up the homonymous valley on the orographic left to Gias Bourel, still used by the mountain shepherds, and then go across the hillside passing by several Gias. Once you reach Gias Viribianc Superiore you can head north at a high altitude towards Colle Viribianc (on the watershed with Valle Grana) and descend to Castelmagno. Alternatively, continue along Lou Viage towards Gias Viribianc Inferiore until you reach Rifugio Carbonetto, where it is possible to stay overnight.
