Highlights and tour details
Once you have reached the basin, you can pass the upper lakes. From the 13L bivouac, continue for a stretch on path 204 in the direction of Lago dell'Uomo, crossing several military barracks until you come to the path that descends towards Lago dell'Uomo. On reaching the lake, leave it to the right and continue in the direction of Cappello di Envie. Above the second section of the chairlift (Bric Rond 2480 m), instead of descending to the Conca dei 13 Laghi below, follow path no. 227 that goes up to the left towards Capello d'Envie overlooking the homonymous lake (bella Seduta). The descent begins with a small section secured with a cable, which is overcome without any difficulty and you soon reach Lago Rametta (2586 m). Going around the lake towards Passo Cialancia, you immediately come to path no. 205, which descends towards the basin. Continuing along the path you reach the centre of the basin (2395 m) with the remains of the military shelters built by the Alpine troops in 1907 to control the nearby border with France, and reused in June 1940, when the Italian army attacked France, and Lago La Drajo where path 204 crosses.
Attractions
Numerous alpine lakes and military structures. The most interesting buildings are the Ricoveri Perrucchetti, built between 1888 and the early 20th century in the wide plateau around the Lake of Draja, and dedicated to Giuseppe Domenico Perrucchetti, one of the founders of the Alpini (Italian Army mountain infantry).
