An itinerary of 320 km that connects the hills of Monferrato to the Sanctuary of Oropa in the Biella area. Eight stages, all with a departure and arrival in areas served by the railway line allowing you to take advantage of the Train + bike service.

The first kilometers of this stage are all flat. Along the way, we encounter the Castle of Pozzolo Formigaro. The first uphill section begins after crossing the Scrivia torrent, from Carezzano the slopes become more decisive and the signage begins that leads us to Castellania, birthplace of Fausto and Serse Coppi. A visit to the house built in the second half of the 1800s is a must, with rooms that have been transformed into a museum dedicated to the ‘Grande Airone’.

From Castellania we face the steep climb up to the hamlet of San Alosio, where a manor once stood, of which only two sections of a square-shaped tower remain visible (o/i 2.8 km, the last stretch of 350 m is covered on foot, make sure you secure the bikes in the parking lot).

From Costa Vescovato, we follow the cycle path to Villaromagnano enjoying the beautiful landscape to the full without worrying about the traffic. The long descent leads to Tortona.

Note: pay attention on exiting from Novi Ligure because there are potholes on the road just past the fire station. Unprotected crossing of the SP 35 in Villarvernia.
