From Locanda La Randoulina go right for 700 metres on the SP 337, then take the road on the right towards Bergemolo (1213m), which you reach after about three kilometres. At the church and a centuries-old elm (monumental tree) you turn left to reach the old part of Bergemolo. The asphalt road becomes a dirt road; at the next crossroads you turn left onto a dirt road. You now continue eastwards in a beech wood. You reach a fork and keep right; you start to go down and continue until the road becomes asphalt and then a dirt road once again. Continue uphill southwards until you take, on the left, a small road that leads to the chapel of Madonna della Consolata (992 m). Beyond the chapel and a shrine eastwards, the road becomes a mule track and descends into a chestnut wood. At the next crossroads you have to keep to the right. The mule track now becomes a dirt road and shortly afterwards, in Festiona, it reaches an asphalt road once more. Go past it and continue towards the old public oven in Festiona. You continue to descend towards the bottom of the valley and, after passing the village, cross the river Stura.
