From Rifugio della Gardetta you proceed on the military road in a westerly direction and you shortly reach the Passo della Gardetta. Here you leave the military road to turn right and follow the GTA route, which in this section coincides with the Occitan routes of the Maira Valley in a north-westerly direction. Go past the side valley of Unerzio and reach the bunkers of Prato Ciorliero (1955 m). Here you take a dirt road to the right. You shortly reach a fork at which you leave the GTA and continue to the left. After a stretch the path bends westwards and climbs towards the Passo dell’Escalon. Continue for a rather long stretch in a north-westerly direction and then go up in a southerly direction towards Colle della Scaletta (2641 m). A few metres before the lake bank you come to route P41, which you have to follow to the left. Proceed in a south-easterly direction, parallel to the eastern bank of the Upper Lake of Roburent (2462 m); you leave the lake behind you and soon you will reach the other two lakes of Roburent (2360 m and 2330 m). You pass near the west bank of the lakes and shortly afterwards the path turns west. You pass Rio Roburent and, going in the direction of a mountain hut (P41), you start to climb towards the Tinetta viewpoint. From here, a steep descent leads to Argentera (1684 m). From Argentera you go down for about 300 metres on the SS 21 until you cross a small road on the right which, after crossing the river Stura, turns sharply to the left and, continuing parallel to the watercourse, you reach the Bersezio ski lifts. Cross the river again and, after a short stretch on the SS 21, you enter Bersezio. Here you turn right at the mill and, crossing the Stura on a small wooden bridge, you practically continue on the flat until you enter a wood through which a path leads to the upper houses of Villaggio Primavera and from here on asphalt to the Hotel Roburent, a stop-off point (1624 m).
