From Niella Tanaro you follow an ancient hilly route that runs along the Briaglia lakes, goes up to the town centre and crosses it, you follow the Landandè route for a section and then climb up to Poggio above Vicoforte and reach the town. You then follow the main street of the historic town centre, dotted with buildings of great cultural interest, until you reach the crossroads with variant 1A that connects the itinerary with the city of Mondovì.
