Highlights and tour details
The second stage passes through Oglianico (Porta, Ricetto, Church of Sant'Evasio) and the countryside between Salassa and Pertusio, with views of the Sacred Mount of Belmonte, and allows a visit to the late-Gothic church of San Giorgio (Adoration of the Magi and other frescoes in the vaults, 15th century) and the parish church with its unusual late-Baroque bell tower.
Cuorgnè's historic town centre and arcades pave the way for the historic Manifattura of Cuorgnè (1874), an important example of industrial architecture, and the Archaeological Museum of Canavese. Next, the route passes the Olivetti factory where the legendary "lettera 22" typewriter was produced, and Agliè, where the church of Santa Marta is located.
The route then reaches Ivrea, the 21st-century industrial city, passing by Via Jervis (Olivetti Office Buildings 1 and 2), where the MAM Museum of Modern Architecture is located, as well as a number of Olivetti sites (the service strip in Via Jervis, the new ICO industrial complex, the church of San Bernardino and the Olivetti canteen, the Unità Residenziale Ovest residential unit, and La Serra complex).
