From Colle Crest (2040 m) the path descends into the Fatinaire Valley, in Val Soana, cutting through a steep and rugged slope, densely covered by green alder. It passes through a wild environment that contrasts sharply with the open and airy slope towards Valle di Ribordone. The path passes Alpe Sionei (1855 m), a large alpine pasture among extensive grasslands with relatively modern standards, served by a cableway, but abandoned for some years. After leaving the pastures, the path follows the steep ridges that descend from Punta del Sionei and Costa Doccia towards the Fattinaire Valley, reaching the village of Combrat (1020 m) in about 1h 30 minutes and, shortly afterwards, Convento (905 m, a hamlet of Ronco Canavese). From the hamlet of Convento walk along the asphalt road of the Forzo valley to Ponte del Crest (880 m): there is a crossroads that is well indicated by special hiking signs: walking along the provincial road in a north-easterly direction you reach the main town of Ronco, the central village of Valle Soana where you can find the main basic services (chemist's, post office, information point, grocery stores,...); going down instead for a short stretch towards the valley and turning into the road on the right (signposted Bosco, Guaria) you follow route 611A on the municipal road of Guaria immersed in the beech wood. Just below the little village of Grangia di Guaria you will find the main route of the AVC stage 10 which follows the signposted mule track that goes down to the Stavalle and Rastut huts.
