From the Tazzetti refuge, follow the trail that goes beyond the steep slope with hairpin bends behind the building and reaches the edge of a marked ridge that descends from Colle della Resta. Follow the ridge until the base of the bastion of schists that supports and orients the Glacier de Rochemelon. You go beyond it by following the tracks of the path that lead to the watershed line, a short distance on from the glacier Colle della Resta (3183 m). Descend to the flat stretch of the Glacier de Rochemelon and cross it in a south/west direction, arriving at a depression on the north/west ridge. You go back up the rounded ridge in the direction of the highest point. The only section of the path that could be dangerous is the bastion of schists next to Colle della Resta. Hikers should proceed close to each other, making sure not to move any unstable stones. Just below the peak, a shelter has been built, which is always open, sleeps fifteen and, being a very popular destination, could already be completely full. On the clearest days, there is a 360° view from the top.

On the top, a large statue representing the Madonna, inaugurated on 28.8.1899.
