Highlights and tour details
From the Barbara Lowrie Refuge descend along the paved road (trail sign 110) or on the tracks of the path that runs alongside the Ghicciard stream, to Alpe delle Selle (1442 m). From here, after approximately half a kilometre, you can abandon the paved road and take the parallel old mule track to the left which leads to Pralpaia, where you again cross the paved road which you follow to Ponte Pautàs (1019 m). There are three bunkers in this area, dating to the Second World War; from the village of Fautet, with a deviation of a few metres from the main road, it is possible to reach the ruins of the coeval station of the cableway for Colle Fautet. The itinerary continues crossing the bridge over the Ghicciard stream and continues for approximately 300 m along a dirt track before taking the mule track to the left which, crossing a lovely wood, rises towards the Comba Tournou and leads to Sapechiòt (1294 m). Past the village, follow trail 110 which crosses the mule track that heads towards Mamauro Superiore (1329 m) and then continues on the path which on wide turns climbs towards the hill of Buissona (1530 m), crossing point between Comba dei Carbonieri and Comba Liussa. At this point, descend in a southerly direction to take the agroforestry path towards Chiot la Sella (1353 m), where there is a mountain pasture. Continue on the path to reach the junction on the right for Pla d'Mez and continue on passing by Pla d’Mount (1423 m) and climb to Sea d’la Plà, crossing point between Val Luserna and Val Pellice. Here you meet the dirt road which climbs from Rorà following it to Valanza (1750 m). Continue on trail 105 which on level ground follows the watershed ridge and then, descending between pastures, arrive at the mountain pasture of La Palà (1632 m) and the homonymous agritourism.
