From the Church of Sant’Anna of Maletto descend on a lovely paved mule track that goes through the villages of Chianoy and Censoru. You then go along a wooded section, descending a hundred metres to reach the paved road which from Carema climbs to Maletto. Cut a first hairpin bend and then follow the road for a few hairpin bends lower down to meet a junction and follow route 841 on the right. Continue to descend halfway down the slope in a southerly direction to reach a col near the ruins of the Castle of Castruzzone. From here, the mule track descends quickly between vineyards to Airale upper and, following a last section on paved road for Sengie, you finally reach Quincinetto. Having left Quincinetto, we follow a well-preserved mule track that allows us to walk through the characteristic terraces of this area, cultivated with orchards and vines. Along the walk, we will meet the ancient quartz mine, after which we resume walking in the wood. Go beyond Santa Maria, Alpe Frera and Frera Superiore at 1295 m and after a short distance we will reach an open area with a lovely view of the surrounding mountains. The rest point is here, in Le Capanne, at an altitude of approx. 1400 m.
