Connection between the main route and the variant of the Media Val Vermenagna. At Gias dell'Ortica (1880 m) you leave the route of stage 67 which continues towards Passo del Duca to turn left towards the west (signpost H18), firstly crossing a beautiful grassy basin and then climbing to Colla del Carbone (2050 m) in front of the Bric of the same name. From here you continue to climb on hairpin bends along the eastern slope of Monte Surin, which you skirt leaving it on the left until you reach a little hill (about 2100 m) just below Cima Baban. Continue along the hillside passing on the west side of the Vermenagna Valley and follow the path to the north that follows the few undulations of the dyspluvial, passes west of the modest Punta Melasso (where signpost becomes L27) and finally reaches Colla Vaccarile (2046 m).
