Variant of the ridge route of the GTL, this short section allows to descend the hill and reach the far regional border, looking at the subsequent hills, already in Liguria.

Gottasecca is the last village of the ridge. It awaits us where the hill descends towards the large valley of Contrada di Camerana and then Saliceto, the last corner of Piedmont before the nearby Liguria. The village owes its fame to two local glories. A historical one, example of a figure of strong patriotism, the Risorgimento poet Amedeo Ravina. He did 27 years of exile, took part in all the revolutionary riots between 1821 and 1848 from Piedmont to Spain to France and Italy again, to return home in 1848 with Carlo Alberto and the Statute and become a deputy of the Subalpine Parliament until his death, which came a few years before the Unification of Italy. The second is a sporting glory, one of the top champions of the balon, the sport of the Langhe, which in these parts makes hearts beat faster than the poets of the Risorgimento: Felice Bertola, the champion of Pallapugno filled squares and playing fields for more than twenty years (from 1963 to 1986); his epic challenges with Berruti are memorable and recall the Manzo-Balestra matches, winning more titles than any other champion of this sport.

The route meanders along the road with little traffic that from the centre of the village takes to the hamlet of Valle. Exiting the concentric, follow the sign for the hamlet of Valle. The road, entirely paved and little travelled, allows to descend to Uzzone, crossing first scenic croplands. Passed a bend in the road you pass a beautiful dry stone farmhouse, losing altitude in the steep slope above the houses of the hamlet.

The surrounding landscape is made of rugged and limestone gorges of romantic charm. They are the last stretches of Piedmont, which already smell of Liguria. Shortly after, there is the regional border. Another world to discover in this frontier land.
