Leave the village of Maddalena and, on a paved road, you reach the area of Balangero (passing by Roccette). From there, take a dirt road which quickly reaches Prese Viretto (going past the Rio Tauneri). Now climb, going past the Rio Brunel, to reach the junction with trail 409; continue in the direction of Casa Verde (Brunello Refuge). With a steep uphill section climb to the northern slope of Mount Muretto as far as Colletto Roc Bianc. Gone past the Pitacrù fountain you reach the houses of Crocette, immersed in the beech-wood. From here, on a lovely mule track slightly downhill, you reach Prese Franza and, a short time later, Pian Savin, home to the homonymous B&B.
