Sentiero Balcone della Valsusa: Stage 7 Cesana Torinese - Sauze di Cesana | Lake Maggiore, Lake Orta, Lake Mergozzo and Ossola Valleys

Highlights and tour details

From Cesana Torinese, climb to the arrival of the Rafujel – Sagnalonga (Massarello) chairlift, and then descend again towards state road SS24 del Monginevro. Go along the Piccola Dora stream and reach the hairpin bend of the Gran Volta. From here, follow the trail that follows the Gorge of San Gervasio and reaches Claviere, to climb up Val Gimont staying on the middle slope as far as Costa Luna. Having passed the ridge, the descent begins towards Capanna Mautino and Lago Nero, to climb back to Col Begino, which allows to descend to Chabaud, Rhuilles and Thures, then the long crossing on the slopes of Cima Bosco to reach the centre of Sauze di Cesana.
