From Intragna you go down to Golino and continue along the embankment path that runs along the Melezza River as far as the confluence with the Maggia River where you enter cycle path no. 31 of the Valle Maggia following it for about 1.5 km. Continue along the Maggia until the bridge of Losone. Go on the bridge to cross the Maggia (Via Alberto Vigizzi) and continue until the first roundabout where you take the first road on the right (Via Bartolomeo Varenna) and shortly after the first on the right (Via Patriziale) which runs parallel to the embankment of the Maggia on the left bank. Continue straight on (Via Gioacchino Respini) skirting Camping Delta (on the right) and the golf course (on the left) as far as Lido Locarno and the lakefront that reaches the marina area. If you turn left here, you will reach Piazza Grande and the centre of Locarno; if you go straight on you will reach the train station.

Attractions

Orselina, above Locarno, is home to the Sanctuary of Madonna del Sasso, whose foundation goes back to a Marian apparition. It is the main tourist attraction of Locarno and enjoys a fantastic view of the city, the lake and the mountains. Historic centre of Locarno with the Visconti Castle - the picturesque old city behind the Piazza Grande extends to the castle that dates to the Middle Ages, which houses an archaeological museum. Cima Cardada - Cimetta: the cable car designed by the famous architect Mario Botta that transports visitors to the hiking and skiing paradise on the heights of Locarno. Lido Locarno: a unique haven for free time, sport and wellness. The Lido of Locarno is situated on one of the most beautiful banks of Lake Maggiore, in a breathtaking landscape against the backdrop of the Pre-Alps
