Follow the asphalt road from Riale that goes up to the Morasco dam and continue by skirting the lake. From the departure point of the ENEL cable car at the bottom of the lake, go down slightly until you cross the stream and take the path which, with some original paved stretches, climbs with some wide hairpin bends to Alpe Bettelmatt, production area of the homonymous and renowned cheese. A rather steep path from the Alp leads to Passo del Gries. You continue skirting Lago del Gries from the higher part to the dam area, where a small service road begins that you follow for two hairpin bends, then the long descent begins along a visible path, passing Stoche, Altstafel and Ladstafel. Here you cross the stream and skirt it by keeping to the hydrographic left as far as the Aarenäst bridge. Keep to the right for a short distance and then cross the bridge again at an altitude of 1592 and after the last stretch, you reach the village of Ulrichen in Valle di Goms.

A26 Motorway to Gravellona Toce, then Superstrada SS33 del Sempione, junction for Valle Antigorio Formazza. After a long tunnel continue along the SS 659 della Valle Antigorio Formazza as far as Riale. Ulrichen (CH) can be reached from Briga via road 19 of the Valle di Goms in the direction of Furkapass and Grimselpass.
