The stage is not particularly difficult. From Villanova you go up partly on a dirt road and partly on a path to the wonderful Conca del Prà, a grassy plateau at an altitude of 1700 m, with the Rifugio W. Jervis and the holiday farm where you can taste specialities from the valley. Go another 500 metres uphill to reach Colle Barant, where you will find the "Bruno Peyronel" Botanical Garden, which covers an area of 17,000 square metres, and the Rifugio Barant. From here, you start the descent on a dirt road to Grange del Pis and Rifugio Barbara Lowrie.
