The route lines up the eastern ridges of the Grue and Curone valleys.

The track runs almost entirely on low-traffic paved roads. Only two sections take you off-road (and what an off-road!). The gravel paths of the plains fade from memory; here we are in the Apennines, and even though the off-road stretches are brief, they are tough. The itinerary climbs up the wide panoramic ridge north of Tortona. After the junction for Agliani, the route descends through the Apennine jungle towards Garbagna, then climbs back up to the opposite ridge. During the descent, we cannot rule out a few portage sections. From there, the route, once again scenic, gently descends towards the Tortona area.
