Leave the bivouac on the right and descend to Alpe Breuil, and its plateau. Leaving again on the right the mule track that through Colle Sià and Cà Bianca goes down to Ceresole Reale and continue left on the level trail to the Gran Piano Hunting Lodge (2222 m, 2 hours from the Giraudo Bivouac). Follow the trail northwards, to the junction for the lakes of Ciamosseretto (a detour of half an hour is recommended for these pretty lakes). Take the trail on the right, which takes you on a long diagonal, to Bocchetta del Ges (2614 m), from where there is a superb view of Piano della Bruna and the surrounding mountains. (2 hours from the Hunting Lodge). On a mule track, descend to Piano delle Alpi la Bruna 2473 m taking the trail that climbs from Noasca. Follow it, arriving shortly after to the Alps themselves, crossing the torrent where possible. From here, the route continues on level ground to the marshy Piano di Goi, then the mule track turns sharply to the right and with a few bends reaches Alpe la Motta (2653 m) close to two pools of water. A few more ups and then a few hairpin bends lead to the vast alluvial plain, at the bottom of which, on a bump, is the Ivrea Bivouac (Ivrea section of CAI, sleeps 9, always open).
