Descend slightly from the Ivrea Bivouac and cross the stream to the east. Go up the evident mule track that with a long traverse leads to some ledges, then turn decisively right and cross the scree, reaching the rather challenging (sometimes snowy) canal that descends from Colle dei Becchi. Go up again among the rocks on the right side of the canal until you reach Colle dei Becchi or Noaschetta (2990 m, 1.50 hours from the Ivrea Bivouac). Go down the opposite side on strips of snow and scree in an easterly direction, until reaching some grassy plateaus. Leave the path that goes down to the Telessio dam to the right and follow the one that leads to the Rifugio Pontese (managed, owned by Club Alpinistico Pontese) after crossing the stream on a bridge. (2.20 hours from Colle dei Becchi). You can stop here or continue towards the Rifugio Pocchiola Meneghello (another 2.45 hours). From Pontese, take the steep path that climbs to the east, crossing the slope furrowed by some gullies diagonally and follow it until Bocchetta di Valsoera (2683 m). On the opposite slope the track descends just as steeply, almost as far as Lake Valsoera and with a long traverse (short chain towards the end) it reaches the dam that you cross, briefly brushing by the Rifugio Pocchiola Meneghello 2440 m (always open, sleeps 12 and is owned by GEAT of Turin).
