Highlights and tour details
From the Cibrario Refuge, having crossed small streams that touch the Pian dei Sabbiunin (trail 122) we climb the steep slope of stone and boulders in front of the construction. Having reached the height of the second of the two channels that open to the right, go in this direction and pass it completely. Having reached a wide ridge of stones, the route moves to the left of the Ghiacciaio di Bertà (Glacier). Follow it for a section, then descend to the almost flat surface of the glacier and continue in the valley between Testa Sula and Massiccio Lera-Sulè. You reach the base of a slope, a little steeper, which precedes the layers of Col Sulè (3063 m). Descend on the opposite side along a snowy and debris valley, at the end of which a good mule track leans to the left on a ledge and goes down in hairpin bends. Further down the valley, trail 122 deviates towards Colle dell’Autaret. Turn left, downhill, on trail 111A, which becomes subsequently flat, along the steep slope of Punta Sulè. Trail 111A in a south/west direction, passes under a rocky wall sculpted by numerous waterfalls, called “dei Pis”, then climbs diagonally southwards, overcoming various streams (Rio Costan, the Rio Avril, Rio del Fort and Rio Cavalla Nera). The trail crosses a ridge and soon reaches the Tazzetti Refuge at Fons Rumour (2642 m).
