From the square of the hamlet of S. Matteo a dirt road begins which, with a constant gradient, reaches the junction at an altitude of 1292 on the ridge leading to Chiot Rosa. The R40 codified track climbs softly following the course of the slope, crosses another dirt road at an altitude of 1136 coming from the Cavoira valley, passes the hamlet of Tombarello and shortly afterwards reaches the junction with the Curnis Auta track at a short distance from Monte Tamone on one side and Chiot Rosa on the other.
