After leaving Rolle, we go in the direction of Lake Bertignano, skirting the stretch of water on the right to take an asphalt road that climbs up towards Cascina Vanotta, where a cart track enters the woods. Shortly afterwards we have to look out for a poorly visible fork at a sharp bend to the right, where the path continues straight ahead. When we reach a fork at the ruins of the church of Santa Elisabetta, we turn left. At Cascina San Lorenzo we turn left following the fence, and enter the wood where we follow a series of paths and bumpy cart tracks until we reach a carriage road that leads to the provincial road, which connects Zimone to Salussola. When we reach a bend on the left near the village of Prelle, we leave the asphalt for a poorly visible path that enters an orchard on the left. We climb up towards the wood and take a path that descends steeply to a cart track that leads to cascina San Michele. Here we must look out for a path on the left that runs along a row of trees. After a stretch of the path there is a cart track on the left that leads to a wide carriage road, and then to the asphalt road to Cerrione.

Attractions

Lake of Viverone, Lake of Bertignano, ruins of the Church of Santa Elisabetta, remains of a 13th-century castle in Cerrione (destroyed in a German bombing raid during the last war, when it served as a partisan base).
