From Palanfrè follow the dirt road south until the first hairpin bend, then take a mule track on the left that crosses a beech wood. Once out of the wood you come back to the Albergh Valley: you pass a narrow gorge and reach a crossroads, where you take the left fork that goes up to the Albergh Lake (2032 m). Continuing uphill you cross a slope of crumbly rocks (wire ropes) then, passing a very steep and exposed stretch, you reach the Passo di Ciotto Mieu (2274 m) on the watershed between the Valle Grande di Vernante and the main fork of the Valle Vermenagna. From here the path descends eastwards along steep grassy slopes. When you reach Pian Madoro (1766 m) you will find a cart track that descends for a long time to an altitude of 1410 m, where it enters a small asphalt road: following it downhill you will reach the village of Limonetto.
