The sixth stage starts from Elva (hamlet of Serre). From the picturesque little square of the Town Hall you descend towards the "deep Valley", on asphalt, turning left after a few hundred metres. Going downhill you cross through the hamlets of Villar, Reinaud, Clari, Dao and Rossenchie. The climb begins after the Rio del Lupo, firstly still on a carriage road and then, after the hamlet of Chiosso Superiore, along a path in the thick larch wood which, with gentle hairpin bends, reaches Colle San Michele (1932 m). The panorama opens onto the large deep valley of the same name and its pleasant high alpine pastures. You take a forest track that descends towards the pastures and upper villages, while your view captures the 3024 m of Mount Chersogno that stands out on the right. The itinerary descends to the hamlets of Cesani and Castiglione. |
